Bethesda’s Former President and CEO Honored at Annual Banquet

Watertown, Wis. (Dec. 3, 2008) -- Dr. David Geske, former president and CEO of Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. has been awarded the Pool of Bethesda Award.
The Pool of Bethesda award recognizes an individual who has made national or international contributions of service and leadership in the field of developmental disabilities and accomplishments that positively impact the lives of people who have developmental disabilities.
Geske’s career with Bethesda spanned more than 40 years. During this time, he served as Bethesda’s Director of Social Services and Assistant Executive Director before becoming CEO of Good Shepherd Lutheran Home of the West, which later became affiliated with Bethesda.
During Geske’s time as president and CEO of Bethesda, his leadership led to unparalleled growth for the organization, expanding throughout the United States and internationally. He was also instrumental is establishing partnerships with IMPACT and LCMS World Relief and Human Care. Additionally, Geske was active in Lutheran Services in America (LSA), eventually serving on its board of directors and helping to start the LSA Disability Network.
“I can’t think of another honor in my professional career that means more to me,” says Geske. “It’s humbling to be included in the list of past recipients and I am truly humbled and appreciative.”
Now in its second century of service, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the country and around the world. Bethesda offers many different types of services for individuals and their families, including a variety of residential settings, supported-living programs and outreach services.
