Rhinelander, Wis. (Jan. 12, 2009) -- Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. will be holding a workshop on February 7 for individuals and congregations interested in developing an inclusive ministry for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The workshop, which takes place from 8:45 a.m. to noon, will include discussions about inclusion and lessons on teaching the Christian faith. These discussions will be led by Jeanne Dicke and Rev. Dennis Kneer.

“Pastors, church leaders and anyone interested in the spiritual nurture of individuals with developmental disabilities would benefit from this workshop,” says Dicke, a deaconess who has served Bethesda for 25 years and is currently Bethesda’s Parish Ministry Consultant (PMC) for the Rhinelander, Tomahawk and Minnesota region.

Rev. Kneer also has a vast amount of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He has worked on Bethesda’s Watertown, Wis. campus for over 12 years and is currently Bethesda’s PMC for Southern Wisconsin.

Registration is $10 per person or $25 for three or more people from the same congregation. Registration is due by February 1. For more information on the workshop, interested individuals can contact Dicke at 651.603.6279 or by e-mail at jdicke@blhs.org.
