Watertown, Wis. (February 4, 2009) -- Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. will hold its second annual Golden Gala on March 7, 2009. The Golden Gala, a semi-formal event to be held in the Miller Room of Coast restaurant in Milwaukee, consists of a dinner, raffle, auction and dance. The event will also feature entertainment by Milwaukee party band The Dirty Boogie.

The Golden Gala is hosted annually by Bethesda’s Milwaukee Associate Board. The board, founded in 2007, consists of community leaders between the ages of 21 and 55 who are committed to spreading awareness of Bethesda’s mission to a new generation, and who also seek to raise funds to support that mission.
“I really appreciate the time and effort the Milwaukee Associate Board puts into making the Golden Gala an innovative fund raising event,” says John Nickels, Vice President of Development for Bethesda. “This social gathering offers a unique opportunity for donors and volunteers to come together and celebrate Bethesda’s wonderful ministry to people with developmental disabilities.”
The first annual Golden Gala was held in March, 2008 and was attended by 150 people. At the event, over $12,000 were raised to support Bethesda’s mission.
Now in its second century of service, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the country and around the world. Bethesda offers many different types of services for individuals and their families, including a variety of residential settings, supported-living programs and outreach services.
