Good Samaritan Program

By participating in Bethesda’s Good Samaritan Program, you can be a neighbor to those who need your support and ensure ongoing Christ-centered care for people with developmental disabilities.

The Fund

Supporting a single person with developmental disabilities can be expensive. Some of the people we serve are not eligible for, nor do they receive any form of government assistance and for them – and their families – the full cost of services Bethesda provides can be a significant financial burden.

The Bethesda Good Samaritan Fund was developed to help ensure that as many people as possible could be served by Bethesda’s ministry, regardless of their ability to pay the full cost of the services we provide.

Bethesda’s Good Samaritan Program: Two ways to share your blessings

For Individuals

For tax purposes, all gifts made to the Good Samaritan Fund by individuals will be pooled together. At the end of the year, this money will be shared with those individuals who have the greatest financial need. Note: This was previously called the Bethesda Caretaker Fund.

For Schools and Church Groups

Church groups or school classes can be directly connected to a person who receives supports from Bethesda. When you join this program, you will be specifically matched to the individual you will be helping.

An informational sheet is also included expressing that persona’s name, birthday, likes and hobbies. All gifts you make will go toward helping that individual and the services they receive at Bethesda.

In this way, not only can you make a personal difference in the life of an individual, but you also help to support our mission.

How do I get started?

You can make your first gift to the Good Samaritan Program online, or you can contact one of our development representatives who can answer any questions and assist you in making your first gift.
