If you shop Bethesda's thrift shops, volunteer your time working at a shop, or donate goods to be sold, your efforts help support the people we serve!

Bethesda relies on the income generated by our 27 thrift shops to help provide funding for our mission. One-hundred percent of the net profits from the stores go directly to the people Bethesda supports. In 2008, the shops provided $1.2 million in revenue that helped pay for unfunded services such as specially-built wheelchairs, dentures, supplies for feeding tubes and for Christian education and spiritual nurture for the men, women and children served by Bethesda around the country.

Volunteering

Bethesda's thrift shops are staffed by volunteers. The shops are a wonderful blessing not only to the people Bethesda serves, but also to the volunteers who report their feelings of being valued and needed. Many volunteers talk of making new Christian friends and of being a service to their communities through recycling and giving excess donations to needy families and missions.
