Bethesda Lutheran Communities has acquired three community homes in Appleton from Lutheran Social Services, a service provider for adults with developmental disabilities. The addition of Lutheran Social Services’ three Appleton homes complements existing Bethesda operations throughout Wisconsin that include residential homes, employment and community life services, ministry support for Lutheran congregations to provide worship opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, and 13 Bethesda Thrift Shops, including Fox Valley locations in Appleton and Neenah.
August 2013 - Bethesda Expands Residential Supports to Minnesota, Acquires Community Living Inc.
Bethesda Lutheran Communities has acquired Community Living, Inc., a service provider for adults with developmental disabilities in Victoria, Coon Rapids and Blaine, Minn. Community Living serves nearly 70 people with developmental disabilities and employs more than 140 people in homes located in neighborhood settings. The acquisition complements existing Bethesda initiatives in Minnesota that include ministry support for Lutheran congregations, inclusive worship opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, and a Bethesda Thrift Shop located in Minnetonka, Minn.
