Exploring Faith and Life Bible Study Curriculum Package

Exploring Faith and Life is a Bible study curriculum for adult individuals with developmental disabilities. The curriculum package includes:

• Teacher guide, including an introductory chapter with teaching tips and suggestions, 24 Bible study lesson plans, visual aids, and sheet music for 15 worship songs.
• Student leaflets to accompany each of the 24 lessons. Five sets of student leaflets are included in the package; additional sets may be ordered.
• Exploring Faith and Life music CD, featuring 15 worship songs; additional CDs may be ordered.

Geared toward adults and young adults in small Bible study groups, the Exploring Faith and Life Bible study lessons have been designed with flexibility and adaptability to your students' ability levels in mind. Each lesson includes:

• Music
• Discussion
• Scripture readings, featuring a Key Bible Verse
• Activities to encourage the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in the life of the Church and community

Care has been taken with each of the lessons to position class members as adults in an adult world. For that reason, the use of art and craft activities is de-emphasized. Instead, activities include role-play, review and discussion of contemporary issues faced by adult Christians with developmental disabilities living and working in the community, as well as games involving real interactions and decision-making activities.

Thanks to the generous support from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation TM Lutheran Partners Grant program, as well as financial contributions from the Minnesota-South district of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML); Louisiana/Mississippi district of the LWML; Northern Wisconsin LWML; Racine Lutheran High School, Racine, Wis. and Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Hales Corners, Wis., the Exploring Faith and Life Bible study curriculum package is affordably priced at $75, including shipping and handling. Additional student leaflets may be ordered at $20 for five sets.
