Christian Living, part 4

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (NIV)

This Bible verse talks to us about the importance of forgiveness in the life of a Christian.

When Adam and Eve sinned, they separated themselves and all of mankind from God. This made God sad, because He loved them…and us…and wants us to be with Him. If we have sinned, we cannot be with God.

So God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven. This happened before we were born. That means that God forgave our sins even before we had a chance to sin. God must love us a lot to forgive us the way He did. He sent His own Son to die for us on the cross. Now we can be with God.

This verse tells us that we should forgive other people just as God forgives us. So when other people do something that hurts us or makes us mad, we need to remember that God did not get angry with us. Instead, He chose to forgive us. Forgiving someone means that we will no longer stay upset or angry when someone does something bad or hurts us. But instead, we choose to love them and pray for them.

When we ask God, He will forgive and forget all of the bad things that we do. We should always remember to tell God about the bad things that we do and tell Him we are sorry. Let’s do that now.

Dear God, we have not always been good and done the things that we should. Please forgive us for all the bad things we do. We love You, and we ask that You help us keep away from sinful things. Help us to forgive others as You forgive us. Thank You for loving us and taking care of us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
