Pray at All Times

Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (NIV)

How often do you pray? This Bible verse tells us that we should pray at all times. With our busy schedules, do we always have time to pray? We are busy in the mornings getting up for school, our jobs or appointments. In the afternoons, we try to finish our work or special projects, and we get ready to go home. It seems like we are always busy.

After work, when we get home, we are busy in the kitchen preparing our food for dinner, setting the table, doing our laundry or getting ready to go to Bible class or bowling or the movies...always busy.

Pray at all times. God looks for us to come to Him in prayer each day, every day. Prayer is our time to talk to God about our day…both the good things and the bad times. Prayer is also a time to talk to God about our friends, our staff, our pastors and all people. The Bible verse tells us to pray at all times.

Prayer is a time to thank God for all the blessings He gives us every day. Prayer is a time to praise God for His forgiveness of all our sins and His love for each of us.

When Jesus was on earth, He prayed to His heavenly Father all the time. Jesus sometimes got up early in the morning, before it was light, to pray. Sometimes, Jesus stayed up late at night to talk with His Father. It does not matter where we are or what we are doing. God always hears us when we pray.

God waits for us to pray to Him, and He listens to what we say. God answers our prayers through His Word, the Bible. God answers us in our hearts, when the Holy Spirit speaks to us in our hearts.

God invites us to pray! This is the first and best reason for prayer. Pray today, pray tomorrow, pray always. Our heavenly Father waits for us.

Dear Father in heaven, we praise You because You are great and wonderful. We thank You for all the good things we have. We thank You for listening to us when we pray. Help us to listen to You and to pray to You every day. We praise You always. Amen.
