Fellowship with God
July 21, 2010
Kathleen D. Morris, Ministry Consultant – MI, OH & NJFellowship with God John 15:9
[Jesus said] As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. (NIV)Since we were little toddlers, and throughout our lives as adults, we have made friends. We have made friends in our neighborhoods, at school, at church and Bible class, at work and with staff and those who live with us in our homes. Our relatives even become our friends. Our relationships with our friends and with our relatives depend on our love for each other. When we love and respect each other, we then know of God’s love for us. God is love.
Our fellowship with God is important to us as Christians, because we want to feel His love…and we want to share that love with others. Jesus tells us that as His Father loves Him, this same love is what He gives to us also.
Jesus’ love for us is an everlasting love…one that will never end. Jesus wants us to live in the power of that love forever. What a blessing it is to be loved by Jesus and the Father!
In your fellowship with Jesus, whether alone or with others, you are surrounded by the love of God. Jesus waits to fill your life with His love. You remain in God’s love each and every day, and that will not change…ever.
What a wonderful fellowship we have with God! To be loved now and forever is a wonderful feeling. The greatest happiness of our lives is knowing that we are loved by Jesus Christ and can live in fellowship with Him every day here on earth and later in heaven after we die.
Dear heavenly Father, we thank You for Your everlasting love. Help us to show our love to You by keeping Your commandments and loving each other. Help us to grow daily in our fellowship with our family and friends and all people. Amen.
