Bethesda's ICF-MR facilities range from larger campus-style living to smaller 6-person homes. A wide variety of living options is available in each region.

Services Offered

Services offered at ICF-MR facilities vary by location and may include:

  • physical, occupational and speech therapists
  • recreation and music therapists
  • social workers
  • psychologists
  • nurses
  • on-staff physicians
  • chaplaincy staff

The Experience

Each person living in an ICF-MR facility has an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) to help staff provide services and training that will enable the person to become more independent. The ultimate goal of all programs is to help each person gain the skills needed to live a more independent life. Training in daily living and community living skills, and vocational skill development, are offered based on people's specific needs and choices.
