Bethesda Camps

Bethesda operates five camping programs.  These programs provide campers with the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, make new friends and relax.  In addition, campers and volunteers form friendships that last long after camp is over.

Two of the camps, Camp Matz and SonRise are owned by Bethesda.  The other two camps are rented and operated by Bethesda for the weeks the camping programs provide.

In summer 2011, more than 370 volunteers and 270 campers with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoyed the fun and fellowship of Bethesda's camping ministries. SonRise Camp in Anderson, Ind., Camp Matz in Watertown, Wis. and Bethesda Mountain Builders' Camp in Woodland Park, Colo., Forest Adventure Retreat in Chesire, Oreg.  provided a Christ-centered experience for campers of all ages.
