2010 Camp Matz Schedule

If your group is interested in volunteering for one of the weeks below, please contact Area Director Donna Winter. Please note: First-time congregations or groups (meaning you haven't attended Camp Matz before) may bring a maximum of 12 participants. There is no limit on returning congregations/groups. Registration starts January 1, 2010. Who comes to Camp Matz?

June 7 - 11

Celebrate Summer

What does summer mean to you? It is relaxing in the sunshine; listen to all the different sounds of nature, playing a round of Frisbee golf? However you would like to celebrate summer we will find an activity for you!

     
June 14 - 18

Down on the Farm

This activity allows the camper to learn about "life on the farm". Campers will learn about the care and feeding of animals such as chickens, rabbits, goats, calves and horses.

     
June 21 - 25

Camp Olympics

Camp Olympics is here! Campers will participate in sporting events to show off their spirit. Campers will also create their own team name, flag and chat to increase the anticipation of the games.

     
June 28 - July 2

Happy Birthday America

Help Celebrate America's Birthday by learning how our freedom came to be!

     
July 12 - 16

Board Game Mania

Like to participate in a game of bingo? How about a game of bean bag toss? During this whole week the camper can participate in group activities.

     
July 19 - 23

Around the World

From Ireland to Spain - from China to America. Experience the different traditions and cultures from around the world.
     
July 26 - 30

Nature Awareness

Did you ever think about how trees grow?
Or how flowers produce petals?
We will look at many different living things in nature.
     
August 2 - 6

Sports and Games

If you are a person who likes to keep moving this is the week for you! We will play many different organized games for your enjoyment!
     
August 9 - 13

Outdoor Living Skills
Activities will increase your knowledge about the trees and other plants at camp. Learn a new skill by participating in our orienteering session and enjoy a meal cooked over the camp fire.
     
August 16 - 20   Anything Goes
This week campers will experience some crafts - individual and group plus team sports
