When Brian Tousey moved in 2006 from the Bethesda Lutheran Communities Watertown, Wis., Campus to a nearby community based home, the protective instincts of his parents were tested. "We felt we had found a secure and safe place for Brian when he came to the Watertown Campus in 1999," Mike Tousey said. "Moving Brian would mean putting him through another transition and having him get used to new staff."

On Wednesday, March 20, more than 400 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, advocates, and family members descended on the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison to meet with legislators and discuss issues that impact their daily lives. Among the crowd was a contingent of more than 20 people from Bethesda Lutheran Communities including 10 individuals with developmental disabilities.
