Bethesda Hires Arciniega as Regional Director for Oregon and Washington

Portland, Ore. (Jan. 18, 2017) – Bethesda Lutheran Communities has appointed James Arciniega as Regional Director for in Oregon and Washington. Arciniega is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

“James is a passionate, empathetic employee who thrives on problem-solving,” said Mike Thirtle, Bethesda’s President and CEO. “I have confidence in his determination to help the people we support live the lives they want.” 

Bethesda supports 233 people in Oregon and Washington, including 138 group homes, day service programs, supported living and employment supports.

Arciniega began his career at Bethesda as a Direct Support Professional 15 years ago. He advanced in his career holding various positions including Project Manager, Assistant Regional Director and Corporate Director of Business Development and Innovation.

“Bethesda was the first faith-based job I ever experienced,” Arciniega said. “The mission to provide services that share the good news of Jesus Christ called to me, and I knew I had found my home. There is no better feeling than walking into a group home and seeing the people we support happy and satisfied because of our work together.”

Arciniega holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Social Science from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
